Your adventure begins in Guwahati, Assam’s largest city and your launchpad into Northeast India. From here, the Guwahati to Tawang bike trip winds through picturesque valleys, quaint towns like Bomdila and Dirang, crosses the surreal Sela Pass, and descends into the valley that shelters Tawang.

Itinerary
Day 1

Guwahati Arrival | Drive to Nameri (220 Kilometers)

  • The group will assemble at the designated pick-up point in Guwahati, where a brief introduction by the trip captain will take place.
  • Afterward, we will begin our journey towards Nameri National Park, located on the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. This biodiversity hotspot is home to rare flora and fauna, including elephants, tigers, hornbills, and more.
  • Upon arrival, we will check into our stay surrounded by the natural beauty of Assam’s wilderness. The evening is free for leisure.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Nameri.

Day 2

River Rafting | Drive to Dirang (160 kilometres)

  • We will begin our day with a river rafting experience on the Jia-Bhoreli River.
  • After breakfast and the morning activity, we will head towards Dirang, a scenic hill station known for its cool climate and picturesque views of the Eastern Himalayas.
  • Upon arrival, check into the hotel and unwind for the day.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 3

Drive from Dirang to Tawang (125 Kilometers)

  • After breakfast, we will leave for Tawang, a charming town nestled at an elevation of over 10,000 ft.
  • En route, we will pass through the stunning Sela Pass and halt at Sela Lake, a high-altitude glacial lake surrounded by snow peaks.
  • We will also visit Jaswant Garh, a war memorial dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat.
  • Upon arrival in Tawang, check into your hotel.
  • In the evening, travelers can explore local cafes or enjoy the mountain views at leisure.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 4

Bum La Pass Excursion | Return to Tawang

Bum La Pass

  • After early breakfast, we’ll set out for an excursion to the iconic Bum La Pass, located near the Indo-China border at an altitude of 15,200 ft. The road to Bum La is scenic and adventurous, surrounded by snow-covered landscapes for most of the year.
  • Later, we will visit the serene P.T. Tso Lake and the beautiful Madhuri Lake (also known as Shonga-tser Lake), named after the Bollywood actress from the movie Koyla.
  • Return to Tawang by evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Tawang.

 

  • Note: Due to border regulations, bike permits may be restricted for Bum La. In such cases, an alternative vehicle will be provided.

Day 5

Tawang Local Sightseeing

  • After an early morning breakfast, we will head out for a local sightseeing tour where we visit the Tawang Monastery known as Gaden Namgyal Lhatse in Tibetan which is the largest monastery in India.
  • We will also visit the Urgelling Monastery which is one of the oldest Gompas in Tawang and is also the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama.
  • Afterward, we will go ahead to witness the Giant Buddha statue which is 30ft tall and overlooks the upper regions of Tawang from an elevation of 10,000ft.
  • Afterward, we will visit the Chakzam bridge which is almost 600 year old and is suspended over the Tawang River.
  • Afterward, we will visit the Tawang War Memorial which is a shrine dedicated to the Indian martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Indo-China War.
  • We will also watch the Light and Sound show that is organized in the memorial every evening and then head back to our hotel.
  • Dinner followed by an overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6

Drive from Tawang to Bomdila (166 Kilometers)

  • After breakfast, we will begin our descent towards Bomdila, a quiet town known for its lush greenery, Buddhist culture, and panoramic views of the Himalayas.
  • En route, we will stop to visit the stunning Jung Falls, a popular waterfall that gained fame from the film Koyla.
  • Upon arrival, check into the hotel.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 7

Drive from Bomdila to Kaziranga (180 Kilometers)

  • After breakfast, we will make our way to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Assam.
  • Known for its thriving population of the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, Kaziranga is also home to wild buffaloes, elephants, Bengal tigers, and countless bird species.
  • Upon arrival, check into your stay surrounded by the beauty of Assam’s wilderness.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 8

Jungle Safari | Drive to Guwahati (200 Kilometers)

  • Early in the morning, we will head for a Jungle Safari to explore the park’s stunning terrain and get a chance to spot the rare wildlife in its natural habitat.
  • After the safari and breakfast, we will drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and relax for the evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Guwahati.

  • Any additional expenses of personal nature.
  • Additional accommodation/food costs incurred due to any delayed travel.
  • Cost Of Any Spare Part Which Will Be Used Due To The Accidental Damage Incurred When The Motorbike Is In Rider’s Possession.
  • Cost Incurred To Transfer Or Tow The Motorbike In Case It Is Dropped On The Way.
  • Any lunch and other meals not mentioned in Package Inclusions.
  • Any Airfare / Rail fare other than what is mentioned in “Inclusions” or any type of transportation from Guwahati to Guwahati.
  • Additional Costs due to Flight Cancellations, Landslides, Roadblocks, and other natural calamities.
  • A security deposit of Rs. 5,000/- per motorbike. As per the deposit policy, this amount is refundable if there is no damage or spare parts used by the end of the trip. The Amount will be refunded within 5 Working Days.
