Overview

This 8-day itinerary offers a breathtaking circuit through the heart of Himachal Pradesh, transitioning from the lush, green valleys of Tirthan and Kinnaur into the stark, high-altitude desert of Spiti. Starting in Manali, the journey kicks off with a ride to the quaint hamlet of Jibhi and a climb over the winding Jalori Pass. As you move toward Chitkul—the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border—and the apple orchards of Kalpa, you’ll witness a dramatic shift in landscape and architecture, highlighted by the intricate Bhima Kali Temple and views of the Kinner Kailash range.

The middle leg of the trip dives deep into the spiritual and geological wonders of the Spiti Valley. Following the flow of the Spiti River, you’ll explore ancient monastic heritage at Tabo and Dhankar, perched precariously on cliffside ridges. Based in Kaza, the itinerary covers "world’s highest" bucket-list items, including the iconic Kee Monastery, the dizzying Chicham Bridge, and the world's highest post office at Hikkim, all set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks and fossil-rich terrain.

The final stretch is a rugged adventure over the formidable Kunzum La to the turquoise waters of Chandrataal Lake, where you’ll experience high-altitude lakeside camping. The journey concludes with a scenic ride back to Manali via the engineering marvel of the Atal Tunnel, completing a full loop of some of the most challenging and rewarding terrain in the Himalayas. It is a perfectly balanced mix of cultural immersion, spiritual exploration, and raw motorcycling grit.
